Abstract:
Provided are an electric linear motion actuator and an electric brake device with which a reduction in the size of an electric motor can be achieved, and with which it is possible to perform high-output motor control in a space saving manner. An electric linear motion actuator (DA) according to the present invention is provided with an electric motor (4), a linear motion mechanism (6) which converts rotating movement of the electric motor (4) into linear movement of a linear motion unit, and a control device (2) for controlling the electric motor (4). The control device (2) includes: an angular velocity estimating functional unit (20b) which estimates the angular velocity of the electric motor (4); a current limiting functional unit (23a) which limits a current energizing the electric motor (4) to a prescribed maximum value; and a maximum current adjusting functional unit (24) which, when the angular velocity estimated by the angular velocity estimating functional unit (20b) exceeds a prescribed angular velocity, increases the maximum value of the current limited by the current limiting functional unit (23a).
