Abstract:
This electric motor (1) comprises: a stator; a rotor; a control board that, together with positioning of an inverter for converting an inputted DC voltage to an AC voltage and supplying the converted voltage to the stator, controls driving of the rotor; and a lead line (7) that is a single serial communication line connected to the control board and to a higher-level system (201) for outputting a rotation command for commanding the rotation speed of the rotor. The control board executes single-wire serial communication, which is single-line serial communication, with the higher-level system by using the lead line, thereby receiving the rotation command from the higher-level system and transmitting a rotation speed feedback signal, which pertains to the actual rotation speed of the rotor, to the higher-level system.
