Abstract:
This electric motor has a rotor and a stator. The rotor has an annular rotor core with an axis as the center and a permanent magnet that is attached to the rotor core. The permanent magnet forms a magnetic pole, and a part of the rotor core forms a virtual magnetic pole. The stator includes: a stator core that surrounds the rotor core from the outer side of the radial direction centered on the axis; and a coil that is wound onto the stator core. The stator core has a slot that accommodates the coil. The stator core has a first core section, located at the center of the axial direction of the stator core, and a second core section, located at an end of the axial direction of the stator core. The area of a slot in the second core section is greater than the area of a slot in the first core section.
