Abstract:
Provided is an electric motor control system capable of increasing the torque of an electric motor in order to ensure steering performance even when an abnormality occurs, and an electric power steering device. This electric motor control system is equipped with a control device (4), which is equipped with two sets of control systems each controlling the supply current to a corresponding set of windings. If an abnormality occurs in the windings and control system of one set, the supply current to the windings of all or proportion of the phases of the abnormal set is set to 0, and the supply current to the windings of a normal set is increased to an irreversible current such that the irreversible demagnetizing rates of permanent magnets become larger than under normal conditions.
