Abstract:
In a conventional electric motor device for electric power steering, assembly or disassembly by tightening or releasing a screw is easily performed, but there has been a problem in that ease of assembly is adversely affected by variability in the connection position with the power supply unit of the electric motor, due to the increase in the length of the coupling terminal which extends to the electric motor from the control circuit, caused by the widening of the gap between the control circuit and the power supply unit of the electric motor. An electric motor device for electric power steering of the present invention comprises: an electric motor which has a stator and a rotor that is disposed within the stator; and a control unit which has a drive circuit that is connected to the stator and supplies power, a control circuit that controls the drive circuit, and a housing that covers the drive circuit and the control circuit and can have the electric motor attached thereto, wherein the electric motor and the control unit are constructed substantially coaxially, a power supply unit which extends from the electric motor and a coupling unit which extends from the control unit and is connected to the power supply unit are provided, and the coupling unit is held in the housing with an insulating member interposed.
