Abstract:
Provided is an electric brake device that includes a reverse input holding means, said electric brake device being capable of achieving reduction in space, the number of components, and cost. In normal rotating operation by a rotor (8), the axial position of the rotor (8) is held, and the rotor (8) is freely rotatable with respect to a stator (7). When a parking brake switch is operated in the state in which a vehicle is stopped, the rotor (8) is slid to one side in the axial direction by a rotor sliding means against a load given by an axial preloading means (54). As a result, an engagement portion (55) of the rotor (8) and a portion to be engaged (56) of a housing (4) are engaged with each other. In the engaged state, the reverse input holding means holds a rotation angle of the rotor (8), with the engaged state between the engagement portion (55) and the portion to be engaged (56) being maintained with respect to a load of reverse input acting as external force on the rotor (8) along with reaction force of pressing force of a brake friction member.
