Abstract:
An electric motor driving system for ship propulsion of one embodiment comprises an inverter and a control unit. The inverter supplies power to an electric motor which is a first power source that supplies a portion or all of the propulsion for the ship. The control unit causes a first clutch to be in a disengaged state by controlling the inverter, the first clutch being an automatic engagement/disengagement clutch disposed between the electric motor and a propeller which is coupled to a main shaft and a second power source that supplies a portion or all of the propulsion for the ship.
