Abstract:
An electric motor system 1 is provided with: a battery 10; an inverter 12; an electric motor 14; a zero-phase switching arm Z; and a control unit 18. The inverter 12 converts a DC power output from the battery 10 into a three-phase AC power, and outputs the three-phase AC power to the electric motor 14. The electric motor 14 has a rotor 30 which is rotated with the three-phase AC power output from the inverter 12. The electric motor 14 has a neutral point N connected to the zero-phase switching arm Z. By means of switching S1 to S6 of the zero-phase switching arm Z, a zero-phase current that flows through each winding of the electric motor 14 is adjusted. Thus, in the electric motor system 1, rotor toque is generated not only with the three-phase AC current that flows through each winding but also with the zero-phase current.
