The present invention relates to an electric motor which is intended for a motor-wheel such as those used in low-power vehicles. The motor comprises solenoids (7) which are mounted on a stator (1) as well as magnetic members (6) which are arranged on the rotor (3) with alternating polarities. When the axis of one of said solenoids coincides with the axis of one of the magnetic members, the axes of the remaining solenoids (7) do not coincide with the axes of the remaining magnetic members (6). The solenoid (7) coils are electrically supplied through an electronic inverter circuit (16), wherein the polarity of said solenoids (7) is modified according to that of the magnetic members (6) so as to generate a traction or repulsion force for rotating the rotor (3).
