Abstract:
An electric motor (1) is provided with: a frame (2) having a first bearing holding section (2a); a stator (3); a first bearing (4a) held by the first bearing holding section; a rotor (5) supported by the first bearing (4a) such that the rotor can rotate; and a preload member (6) that generates a preload in the direction of an axis line (A0) of the rotor (5). The frame (2) also has a first frame section (21). The first frame section (21) has a supporting section (21d) that supports the preload member (6). An outer end portion of the preload member (6) faces the supporting section (21d) such that the outer end portion is covered with the supporting section (21d).
