Abstract:
In an electric parking brake device for a vehicle, a control unit (C) that controls the operation of an electric motor (41) includes: a slope computing means (87) that computes the slope of a detected current value obtained by a current detecting means (84); a current stabilization determining means (88) that determines that an energizing current has stabilized after starting the energization of the electric motor to return a parking brake lever (34) to a disengaged position; a storing means (89) that stores the slope of the current value within a set time after the energizing current has stabilized; and a motor stop determining means (90) that stops the electric motor on the basis of the slope computing means computing the slope of an increasing current value other than the slope of the current value stored by the storing means after the set time elapses. With this arrangement, when an electric actuator including the electric motor moves the parking brake lever to the disengaged position to release the parking brake state, the electric motor is stopped quickly and accurately after a no-load current state elapses.
