Title:
ELECTRIC POWER CONVERSION APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1984/004004
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electric power conversion apparatus, such as an inverter in which a self-arc-suppressing switching element is used as an arm element, includes snubber circuits (6U, 6X), each constituted by a capacitor and a diode, which are connected parallel to positive and negative arm elements (1U, 1X), respectively. The sides of the diodes (62U, 62X) of the two snubber circuits closer to the corresponding capacitors are connected by a diode circuit (7) to form a discharge circuit passing through reactors (2U, 2X) between the positive and negative arm elements. The apparatus is arranged so that any discharge current flowing through the diode circuit is removed by a current transformer (8) and is returned to the DC power source side.
