Abstract:
The electric power conversion device according to the present invention is provided with a rectifier for rectifying an alternating-current voltage supplied from an alternating-current power source, a first smoothing capacitor and second smoothing capacitor connected to each other in parallel for smoothing an output from the rectifier and performing charging, an inrush current prevention circuit connected in series to the first smoothing capacitor and provided with an inrush prevention resistor for suppressing an inrush current and a first relay connected in parallel to the inrush prevention resistor, a second relay connected in series to the second smoothing capacitor, an inverter circuit for converting the output smoothed by the first smoothing capacitor and second smoothing capacitor into an alternating-current voltage and outputting the alternating-current voltage to a load, and a relay control means for controlling a switching operation of the first relay and second relay. The relay control means sets the first relay to the ON state and the second relay to the OFF state at the start of operation of the inverter circuit, and controls operation of the second relay in accordance with the state of the load during operation of the inverter circuit.
