Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device control method and control device which simplify calculations in conversions from a two-phase command value to a three-phase command value that are carried out when driving and controlling a motor mounted in an electric power steering device and which, by reducing the calculation load, can be installed in a microcomputer. [Solution] In a conversion step for converting a two-phase command value calculated from a current command value to a three-phase command value, the region corresponding to a vector comprising the two-phase command value is partitioned into six sectors and, using a simplified calculation method defined in advance for each sector, the two-phase command value is converted to a three-phase command value and the motor is driven on the basis of the three-phase command value.
