Abstract:
An electric power steering device is configured in such a manner that a large-diameter section (37) is provided at the axially intermediate part of the spring shaft section (36) of a torsion bar (14a), and the outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter section (37) is positioned close to or in contact with the inner peripheral surface of a hollow output shaft (13a). In the electric power steering device, when press-fitting one of a pair of connection shaft sections, which are the axially opposite end sections of the torsion bar, into a connection hole in a counter-shaft, the spring shaft section of the torsion bar can be prevented from buckling, said one of the pair of connection shaft sections being adapted to be connected to the counter-shaft after the other of the pair.
