Abstract:
Provided are an electric power steering device capable of detecting a rotation angle with high precision, and a rotation angle detection method. In the electric power steering device according to the present invention, a motor is provided to a steering column shaft, and driving of the motor is controlled using the rotation angle detected by the rotation angle detection device, whereby torque control of steering force is performed. The rotation angle detection device is provided with an annular resolver stator, and a resolver rotor having a plurality of poles in which a gap d with respect to the inner circumference of the resolver stator changes a plurality of times with each cycle around a shaft center, and the rotation angle detection device is provided with a resolver for outputting a sine wave signal and a cosine wave signal of an electrical angle in accordance with rotation of the resolver rotor, a position detection unit for detecting the position of the motor on the basis of the sine wave signal and the cosine wave signal, and a storage unit (EEPROM) in which a first correction value and a second correction value for correcting the sine wave signal and the cosine wave signal are stored.
