Abstract:
An electric power steering device capable of acquiring an excellent steering feeling without using any logic for compensation such as inertial compensation or frictional compensation. The electric power steering device is provided with road noise suppression control means (213) for controlling a steering assisting motor (9) so as to attenuate a torque transmission in a higher frequency domain corresponding to the road noise than a frequency domain corresponding to road information. The friction value of a steering mechanism (A) is lowered to such a value that the natural vibration of the steering mechanism (A) may appear. The rotor inertial value of the steering assisting motor (9) is set at such a low value that the frequency of the natural vibration may exist in the frequency domain, in which the torque transmission is attenuated by the road noise suppression control means (213).
