Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device capable of protecting a Zener diode for FET protection even when power supply voltage is decreased without a loss in steering performance by time-integrating lost electric power of the Zener diode and gradually limiting the duty as an integrated loss increases. [Solution] An electric power steering device that assist-controls a steering system by generating a PWM signal by computing a steering assist command value on the basis of a steering torque and a vehicle speed, and by PWM-driving a motor via an FET bridge circuit equipped with a Zener diode is provided with: a lost electric power computing unit that computes lost electric power when a difference between an ignition voltage and an inverter application voltage is equal to or greater than a predetermined voltage; an integrated loss computing unit that computes an integrated electric power of the lost electric power; an allowable loss computing unit that computes an allowable loss on the basis of temperature; a minimum value selection unit that selects a minimum value of a loss difference between the allowable loss and the integrated loss; and a limit value computing unit that computes a PWM signal limit value on the basis of the minimum value of the loss difference and the allowable loss.
