Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device that makes it possible to achieve smooth steering wheel return control without a feeling of discomfort even when a driver intervenes by steering while in a linear travel state. [Solution] An electric power steering device provided with a steering wheel return control unit that calculates a return control current (HR) and drives a motor by a compensation current command value that results from subtracting the return control current (HR) from a current command value (Iref). The steering wheel return control unit is configured from: an angular acceleration calculation unit (120) for calculating and determining an angular acceleration (α) that corresponds to a steering angle (θ), a vehicle speed (V), and a steering torque (T); a correction unit for correcting a value that is two times the integral value of the angular acceleration (α) in accordance with the steering torque (T); a target steering angle speed setting unit for setting a target steering angle speed (ω1) on the basis of the square root of a correction value; a return control gain calculation unit for determining a return control gain (SG2) by multiplying the deviation between the target steering angle speed (ω1) and the actual steering angle speed (ωa) by a vehicle speed gain (KP) and a steering torque gain (Th); and a return control current calculation unit for limiting output to the return control gain and determining a return control current (HR).
