Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a high-performance electric power steering device having a three-shunt control function for three-shunt PWM control and provided with a one-shunt control function for one-shunt PWM control so that assist control can be continued even when the three-shunt control function is impaired. [Solution] An electric power steering device that is configured such that PWM control of a three-phase motor is performed by an inverter on the basis of a current command value, and assist control for a steering system is performed through feedback upon detecting currents of the three-phase motor. The electric power steering device is provided with: a three-shunt control function for performing three-shunt PWM control in accordance with a three-phase current detection value 1 based on three shunts disposed on the downstream side of the inverter; a one-shunt control function for performing one-shunt PWM control in accordance with a three-phase current detection value 2 based on one shunt disposed on the downstream side; and a changeover function for switching from the three-shunt control function to the one-shunt control function when an abnormality in the current detection circuit systems for three-phase current detection value 1 is detected.
