Abstract:
(Problem) To provide an electric power steering device which, in order to prevent a feeling of discomfort for a driver, carries out an assistance control in which electric current instruction value characteristics with respect to a steering torque are applied in a disproportionate manner, when steering to the right or left, to multisystem drive systems that constitute a redundant system, and the drive systems correspond to the individual electric current instruction value characteristics. (Solution) The electric power steering device controls the driving of a motor via an inverter on the basis of electric current instruction values which are steering instructions, and applies an assistance force to a steering system of the vehicle via the motor, wherein the motor is a multisystem motor and is equipped with multisystem drive systems having inverters for each system winding of the motor, and assistance control is carried out by applying, to each of the multisystem drive systems, multisystem electric current instruction value characteristics with respect to the steering torque in a disproportionate manner when steering to the right or left, whereby the multisystem drive systems correspond to the individual electric current instruction value characteristics.
