Abstract:

[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device of the vector control type which compensates for inverter dead time without requiring a tuning operation, improves current waveform distortion and improves current control responsiveness, and suppresses noise, vibrations and ripples. [Solution] An electric power steering device of the vector control type which calculates a dq-axis steering assist command value on the basis of at least the steering torque, calculates a dq-axis current command value from the steering assist command value, converts the dq-axis current command value into a 3-phase Duty command value, drives and controls a 3-phase brushless motor using a PWM control inverter, and applies assist torque to the steering mechanism of the vehicle, wherein a dead time reference compensation value is calculated on the basis of the motor rotation angle, and inverter dead time compensation is performed by adding a dead time compensation value, which is obtained by subjecting the dead time reference compensation value to gain and encoding processing and the like, to the dq-axis voltage command value or the 3-phase voltage command value.
