Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device that, in a vector control method type electric power steering device, without tuning work, compensates for dead time of an inverter, attempts to improve distortion of a current waveform and to increase responsiveness of current control, and for which sound, vibration, and torque ripple are suppressed. [Solution] A vector control method type electric power steering device that converts a dq axis current command value to a three-phase duty command value, performs drive control of a three-phase brushless motor using a PWM control inverter, and gives assist torque to a steering mechanism of a vehicle, wherein a temperature coefficient calculation unit that calculates a temperature coefficient that corresponds to the temperature of a control unit including the inverter is provided to said electric power steering device, an estimate is made of a compensation code for a three-phase current model command value for which the dq axis current command value has been converted to the three-phase current command value, a dead time compensation amount 1 is calculated on the basis of the inverter application voltage, a dead time compensation amount 2 is calculated by multiplying the dead time compensation amount 1 by the temperature coefficient, and dead time compensation for the inverter is performed by adding the dead time compensation value that has been obtained by multiplying the dead time compensation amount 2 by the compensation code, or the dead time compensation value converted for two phases, to the dq axis voltage command value.
