Abstract:
Provided is an electric power tool in which electric charge accumulated in a capacitor for stabilizing a supply voltage from a battery can be discharged when the battery is detached. The electric power tool is provided with: a battery 8 that is detachably attached; a stabilization circuit 70 that has a capacitor C1 for stabilizing a supply voltage from the battery 8; and a motor 3 that is operated by the supply voltage from the battery 8, wherein the stabilization circuit 70 has a switching element which switches between on and off if the battery 8 is detached, and when the battery 8 is detached to cause the switching element to be switched between on and off, a discharge path is formed so as to allow electric charge accumulated in the capacitor C1 to be discharged therethrough.
