Abstract:
An electric rotary machine (10) is provided with: a field element (40) having a magnet section (1000) that is formed in a ring shape and that includes a plurality of magnetic poles in which the polarities alternate in the circumferential direction and a cylindrical magnet holding section (43) in which the magnet section is fixed to the inner circumferential surface thereof; and an armature (50) arranged so as to face the magnet section on the radial inner side of the magnet section. The magnet section is provided with a plurality of arc-shaped magnets (1001) arranged side by side in the circumferential direction. In each of the magnets, both end surfaces (1002) in the circumferential direction are formed along the radial direction and are configured so as to come into contact with respective neighboring magnets in the circumferential direction. The magnet holding section is shrink-processed so as to compress the outer circumference of each of the magnets from the outer side towards the inner side in the radial direction in a state in which the plurality of magnets are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction.
