Title:
ELECTRIC ROTARY TOOL WITH BUILT-IN RECOILLES CLUTCH MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1998/003311
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electric rotary tool has a built-in recoilles clutch mechanism adapted for a clutch action, which cuts off engagement between an output shaft and a driven shaft when a load torque of a predetermined value or more acts on the driven shaft (38) coupled with the output shaft (14) of an electric motor. The clutch mechanism is formed with a clutch cam surface, which is provided with a projection (40) for resiliently abutting against and engaging with a cam engagement member (42) supported through a torque adjustment spring (46) to cut off engagement between the output shaft and the driven shaft, and the clutch cam surface and/or the torque adjustment spring are set in such a manner that when a load torque exceeds a predetermined value upon forward rotation of the driven shaft to permit the cam engagement member to disengage from the projection on the clutch cam surface, shock on the cam engagement member and the clutch cam surface is absorbed and eliminated.
