An electric scooter comprises a scooter base (1), a support rod (2), a front wheel (3), a rear wheel (4), and a folding mechanism (5). The front wheel (3) is a hub motor. The folding mechanism (5) can fold, to the support rod (2), the scooter base (1) having the rear wheel (4). A control device (211) is arranged in the support rod (2), and connected to the hub motor. The control device (211) is triggered by rotations of the front wheel (3) to rotate the hub motor. The support rod (2) is extensible, and a handle (231) is foldable. The electric scooter can be folded to the maximum extent, and a space taken up after folding can be minimized, being easy to carry, semi-foldable for hand-pulling and easy carrying. Further, the embodiment can generate driving power to move the scooter further.
