To provide an electric scroll compressor wherein, if a configuration in which pins are engaged is employed as a rotation preventing apparatus for an orbiting scroll, the precision with which the pins are mounted is increased and the performance and reliability of the compressor is improved. [Solution] A housing member (a motor accommodating housing member (6)) is integrally formed from a motor securing part (6a) to which an electric motor (4) is secured and from an endplate (6b) that supports the axial load of an orbiting scroll (22) and that rotatably supports a drive shaft (14). An electric scroll compressor (1) has a rotation preventing apparatus that is configured between the endplate (6b) and a substrate (22a) of the orbiting scroll (22) from a plurality of pins (51) that are arranged in the circumferential direction and a plurality of cylindrical recessed parts (53) that engage the pins (51). The cylindrical recessed parts (53) are formed on the substrate (22a) of the orbiting scroll (22), and the pins (51) are secured to the endplate (6b).
