Abstract:
Provided is an electric supercharger, the number of rotations of which is controlled at an appropriate number of rotations so that the actual temperature of a motor does not overshoot the allowable temperature, even if the time constant of the measured temperature is long in a rotation number control device of the electric supercharger. The rotation number control device is provided with a temperature sensor (17) for detecting the temperature of a motor (5), and a rotation number restriction means (21) for restricting the number of rotations of the motor (5) when the detected value exceeds a operation restriction starting temperature (Tm). The rotation number restriction means (21) has an operation restriction starting temperature correction means (23) for reducing the operation restriction starting temperature (Tm) when the rate of increase in the detected value exceeds a threshold value, and a restricted rotation number setting means (25) for setting a rotation number restricted value after the detected value exceeds the operation restriction starting temperature (Tm), on the basis of the difference between the operation restriction starting temperature (Tm) and a detected temperature (T), and the rate of increase in the detected temperature. The rotation number restriction means controls the number of rotations at a number of rotations set by the restricted rotation number setting means (25).
