In an electric toothbrush (10) according to the present invention, a head case (20) is adapted to be detachable from a holder member (30), so that the brush is easy to wash and thus the brush can be sanitarily kept. In addition, also the direction of the brush relative to the holder member (30) can be changed, so that teeth can be brushed up according to the positions thereof. Since the transmission of a driving force to a bundle of brush (74) is bent by the use of transmission shafts (38, 54) and gears in combination, the reliable transmission of the driving force is possible. In addition, since the bundle of brush (74) is rotated by a turning force of the transmission shafts (38, 54), the vibration is smaller than in the case where the bundle of brush (74) is forwardly and reversibly rotated. On the other hand, the connection can be achieved by merely the insertion of a terminal (86) thereby the man-hour can be reduced by providing holes (82a, 83a) of a lead plate for connecting a charging terminal (86) with clicks (82b, 83b) projecting toward the center. In particular, an elastic contact force of the clicks (82b, 83b) against a circumferential surface of the terminal can be enhanced by sharply forming pointed ends of the clicks (82b, 83b).
