Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric vacuum cleaner that readily enables dust, and the like, to be ejected therefrom and thus can be readily cleaned. [Solution] An electric vacuum cleaner characterized by comprising a vacuum cleaner body that is provided with an electric fan and a dust collection device that can be attached to and detached from the vacuum cleaner body, wherein the dust collection device is provided with an outer cylinder that has at least a bottom opening in which the bottom of the cylinder is open, an inner cylinder and umbrella part that are provided within the outer cylinder, and a bottom lid that is rotatable relative to the outer cylinder and is capable of opening and closing the bottom opening, the umbrella part has a top panel and a sliding protrusion that is provided continuously from the top panel and has an opening at the bottom, the umbrella part can slide relative to the inner cylinder, and the opening area of the aforementioned opening is substantially equivalent to the cross-section area of the sliding protrusion.
