Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electric water pump with a cooling member embedded therein for a vehicle that maintains an appropriate temperature of a control substrate by means of a copper cooling member which is directly in contact with coolants circulating through a pump case. The electric water pump for a vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a motor inner case; a rotator; and a cooling member. In the motor inner case, a shaft is vertically installed at the center of an inner part formed on the upper surface of the motor inner case, and a ring shaped fixture is fitted into an outer periphery of a lower part and installed in an outer motor case. In addition, the motor inner case comprises: an inner groove which is concave on the upper surface of the motor inner case; and at least one vertical through hole formed at the outside of the inner groove. The rotator is pivotally around the shaft, inserted into the inner part and comprises a permanent magnet inserted therein. The cooling member comprises: an upper cooling plate which is fitted on the outer periphery of the rotator and settled in the inner groove; at least one cooling pin which is connected to the outer side of the upper cooling plate, inserted into the through hole, and penetrates through the outer motor case; and a lower cooling plate which is connected to the lower part of the cooling pin. The present invention has an effect of improving engine efficiency and preventing thermal damage to the fixture and the control substrate from high temperature by maintaining an appropriate temperature of the control substrate by means of the copper cooling member which is directly in contact with coolants circulating through the pump case. Furthermore, according to the present invention, it is easy to assemble and install a cooling member within a water pump.
