Abstract:
An electric wheelchair (10) comprises: a body section (11) having a seat section (21); mounting brackets (12, 13) supported by the body section (11); clutch operation sections (16, 17) provided to the mounting brackets (12, 13); and driving wheels (14, 15). The driving wheels (14, 15) each have: a base section capable of being attached to and detached from the mounting bracket (12, 13); a wheel section capable of rotating relative to the base section; a driving section for generating a driving force for rotating the wheel section; and a power transmitting section for transmitting the driving force between the driving section and the wheel section. The power transmitting sections are each provided with a clutch operation section for switching between the permission and the prohibition of the transmission of power between the driving section and the wheel section. Mounting the base sections to the mounting brackets (12, 13) enables the clutch operation sections to perform switching operation according to the operation of the clutch operation sections (16, 17).
