Abstract:
The present invention provides a covered electric wire which has both good electric properties and good mechanical properties and in which a porous film of a polytetrafluoroethylene is used as an insulating layer. The present invention is a covered electric wire comprising: a conductive wire; and an insulating layer which covers the conductive wire and comprises a porous film of a polytetrafluoroethylene having an endothermic peak in a region ranging from 327°C to 335°C inclusive and no endothermic peak in a region higher than 335°C and equal to or lower than 380°C as measured by differential scanning calorimetry at a temperature rising rate of 10°C/min.
