Abstract:
Conventional devices for controlling an electrical apparatus exert control for the purpose of realizing a comfortable environment while saving on electricity assuming a prescribed electricity rate. No consideration is given to a method for controlling the electrical apparatus optimally when constraints are imposed on the electricity rate or the amount of electricity used. An electrical apparatus controller connected by a communication channel to one or a plurality of power-consuming electrical apparatuses, at least one sensor, and a server for transmitting information regarding an electricity rate, and used to control the ope ration of the electrical apparatuses, wherein the electrical apparatus controller is characterized in being provided with an amenity calculation unit for calculating amenity on the basis of information from the sensor, and a control unit for managing the operating state of the electrical apparatuses. The control unit controls, in an electricity rate-changing time zone, the operation of the electrical apparatuses as in a prescribed time zone on the basis of the electricity rate and the amenity which apply when the operating state of the electrical apparatuses changes.
