Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to achieve an extremely simple construction for an electrical connector by eliminating circuit boards and counterpart mating electrical connectors etc. A stand-alone plug connector (10) is arranged so as to be directly mated with respect to the wall of a product housing (MF). In the mating state of this stand-alone plug connector (10), the contacting section of a contact (12) is brought into contact with the contacting section of a wiring pattern conduction path (CP) that is exposed at the surface of a mating linking hole (MFa). Consequently, electrical connection of a signal transmission medium can be effected by means of a simple construction without interposition of a conventional circuit board and counterpart mating electrical connector etc. Furthermore, final securing of the electrical connector is effected by the product housing being held between a conductive contact and a linking leg of a connector main body in the thickness direction, and mating linkage is satisfactorily maintained even if the electrical connector is repeatedly mated and removed.
