Abstract:
Provided is a compact electrical connector wherein a terminal for signal transmission and a terminal for short circuit can be brought into contact reliably. A female connector (10) comprises a sub-housing (21) equipped with a plurality of cavities (22) for containing terminals each provided with a lance (23) to which a female terminal (11) is latched, and a plurality of cavities (24) for containing short circuit terminals, which are adjoining the cavities (22) for containing terminals, wherein a short circuit terminal (12) has a bend (14) in the front thereof in the fitting direction to a counterpart electrical connector and has a contact (16) in the rear in the fitting direction, the sub-housing (21) is provided with a window (25) which interconnects the cavity (22) for containing a terminal and the cavity (24) for containing a short circuit terminal at a position which is in the rear of a position where the lance (23) is provided and corresponds to the contact (16) of the short circuit terminal (12), and the contact (16) of the short circuit terminal (12) is brought into contact with the female terminal (11) while penetrating the window (25).
