Abstract:
An electrical contact which comprises a matrix comprising Mo, Cr, and Cu and, dispersed therein, an aggregate phase comprising Cu, wherein the aggregate phase has a maximum particle diameter in the range of 4-20 µm, and when the overall Cu content in the electrical contact is expressed by Wt, then the Cu content in the matrix is represented by C×Wt, where C is in the range of 0.54-0.81; and a process for producing an electrical contact comprising Mo, Cr, and Cu, the process comprising a step in which a powder mixture of an Mo powder and a Cr powder is press-molded to form a compact and a step in which the compact is impregnated with molten Cu.
