Abstract:
Provided is an electrical discharge machining device in which a floating capacitance can be used to improve the surface roughness of an article to be machined. The electrical discharge machining device (1) is provided with a current supply circuit (3) that supplies current to the space between an electrode (17) and the article (19) to be machined such that electrical discharge machining is performed. During electrical discharge machining, a floating capacitor (21) is generated between the electrode (17) and the article (19) to be processed. During electrical discharge machining, the floating capacitor (21) supplies stored electrical load to a void. A condenser (11) stores electrical load until the discharge of the floating capacitor (21) has finished, and, subsequent to the discharge of the floating capacitor (21), uses the stored electrical load to charge the floating capacitor (21). Subsequent to being charged, the floating capacitor (21) is discharged again. Thus, a pulse current is generated, and electrical discharge machining can be performed.
