Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrical discharge machining electrode which makes it possible to form a surface-side slit width so as to be smaller than a rear-hole-side slit width, when forming a slit for a mouthpiece for honeycomb structure formation. The present invention configures an electrical discharge machining electrode provided with both a plurality of plate-shaped discharge units (1) which become gradually thicker toward the tips thereof, and a plate-shaped support section (2) to which discharge-unit (1) end sections (5) opposite the tips (4) thereof are connected, wherein, preferably, the difference between the thickness of the tips (4) and the thickness of the end sections (5) opposite the tips (4) of the discharge units (1) is 5-500μm.
