Abstract:
Provided is an electrically-conductive lubricant that possesses such characteristics as exhibiting liquid crystallinity over a wide temperature range, retaining a low dynamic friction coefficient, exhibiting electrical conductivity, being free of damages caused by evaporation, degradation, etc., having a clean appearance, and allowing immediate detection of deterioration and leakage due to fluorescent light emission therefrom. This electrically-conductive lubricant comprises at least one type of compound (1) represented by the formula (1): [in the formula, R11 and R21 may be the same or different and each represent a hydrogen atom or the group -OCH2CH2CH(R')CH2CH2OR (R is a linear-chain or a branched-chain CnH2n+1; 4≤n≤12; R' is methyl or ethyl); and R12, R13, R22 and R23 may be the same or different and each represent the group -OCH2CH2CH(R')CH2CH2OR (R is a linear-chain or a branched-chain CnH2n+1; 4≤n≤12; R' is methyl or ethyl)].
