Abstract:
This electrically heated carrier comprises: a columnar honeycomb structure including an outer peripheral wall and partition walls that are disposed inside the outer peripheral wall and that demarcate a plurality of cells penetrating through from one end surface to the other end surface to form channels; a pair of electrode layers disposed on the surface of the outer peripheral wall of the honeycomb structure so as to oppose each other across the central axis of the honeycomb structure; and electrode terminals disposed on the electrode layers. The honeycomb structure is formed from a ceramic material with PTC characteristics, and the electrode layers are formed from a ceramic with NTC characteristics.
