Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to suppress reduction in insulation resistance between an electrode and a case in an electrically heated catalyst (EHC). The EHC (1) of the present invention is provided with a heating element (3) that is heated by conduction and heats a catalyst; a case (4) that accommodates the heating element; an insulating member (5) that is provided between the heating element (3) and the case (4) and insulates against electricity; an electrode (7) connected to the heating element (3) via an electrode chamber (9) that is a space positioned between an inner wall surface of the case (4) and the outer peripheral surface of the heating element (3); and a ventilation passage (10) that ventilates the electrode chamber.
