Abstract:
An electrically operated linear actuator is configured in such a manner that an external thrust load is uniformly applied to each planetary roller which revolves and at the same time rotates by causing the circumferential groove thereof to engage with the helical ridge of an outer ring member. The distances from a bearing support surface (6b) of each planetary roller (6) which is supported by a thrust bearing (18) to a predetermined reference position of the circumferential groove (6a) of the planetary roller (6) is set to be different from each other so that, when the helical ridge (5a) of an outer member (5) fits into the circumferential grooves (6a) of the planetary rollers (6), the axial positions of the bearing support surfaces (6b) of the planetary rollers (6) coincide with each other. As a result of the configuration, a thrust load from the outside acts uniformly on each planetary roller(6) which revolves and at the same time rotates by causing the circumferential groove (6a) thereof to engage with the helical ridge (5a) of an outer ring member (5).
