Abstract:
The disclosed electrical-device management system can reduce peak power loads while allowing electrical devices to exhibit the intended functionalities thereof. In said system, each electrical device includes: a sensor; a control unit that controls the power state of the electrical device such that a value obtained from the sensor falls within a prescribed target range; a transmission unit; and a reception unit. When an electrical device reaches a steady state (1102), the transmission unit therein computes and transmits to a central management apparatus the following: the length (A, B, C) of a control cycle when in the steady state; and the duration for which power needs to be supplied to maintain the steady state. The reception unit in each electrical device receives and provides to the control unit in that device a command containing the following: cycle information; and period information pertaining to a power-supply allowance period within the cycle specified by the cycle information. Each control unit controls the power state of that electrical device on the basis of the aforementioned command and output from a timer. The peak power consumption of the entire system is leveled (D) by preventing the power supply periods of multiple electrical devices (A, B, C) from overlapping.
