Abstract:
An electricity storage system 1 is provided with: a plurality of storage batteries B1-B3; a charging unit 12; an inverter 13; a switch 14 that selectively outputs, to a load device 3, alternating current power supplied from a commercial power supply 2 or alternating current power outputted from the inverter 13; a current detection unit 15 that detects the output current of the switch 14; and a control unit 16. During a time when a power failure of the commercial power supply 2 is not detected, under the conditions where the output current of the switch 14 is equal to or more than a first current threshold value but less than a second current threshold value, the control unit 16 adjusts the number of storage batteries B1-B3 by increasing/reducing the number in accordance with the magnitude of the output current of the switch 14, said storage batteries being to be allowed to be charged, and under the conditions where the output current of the switch 14 is equal to or more than the second current threshold value, the control unit prohibits charging of all of the storage batteries B1-B3.
