Title:
ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION DEVICE AND WIRELESS POWER-TRANSFER SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/037525
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In this electricity transmission device (101), which uses electric-field coupling to transfer power to an electricity reception device (201) by applying an AC voltage to an active electrode (13) that faces an active electrode (23) in the electricity reception device (201) across a gap and a passive electrode (14) that faces a passive electrode (24) in the electricity reception device (201) across a gap, a controller (12) monitors the voltage applied to the active electrode (13) in the electricity transmission device (101) and detects the change in said voltage per unit time. The controller (12) also monitors the voltage applied to the passive electrode (14) in the electricity transmission device (101) and detects the change in that voltage per unit time. The controller (12) stops the transfer of power to the electricity reception device (201) if it is determined, from the change per unit time in each of the aforementioned voltages, that a metallic foreign object has gotten stuck between the active electrodes (13, 23) and a user has touched said metallic foreign object. An electricity transmission device and a wireless power-transfer system that make it possible to reliably prevent problems due to foreign objects inserted between electrodes are thus provided.
