Abstract:
A high-quality reproduced sound can be heard by the listener while imparting natural
sound image positioning to the listener. An electro-acoustic converter comprises
a case section (4L) worn at a predetermined position of the head of the listener
and having an internal space, a speaker unit (7L) attached to one surface of the
case section (4L) and disposed at a predetermined distance from the entrance of
the external auditory canal of the listener when the case section (4L) is worn to
the head (100)of the listener, and a tubular duct (8L) extended so as to guide the
sound generated at the case section (4L) to around the entrance of the external auditory
canal of the listener. Since the sound generated at the case section (4L) can be
made to directly reach the drum membrane (103L) in the external auditory canal
of the listener from near the entrance of the external auditory canal through the
tubular duct (8L), sound at an adequate level can be heard by the listener, while
giving natural sound image positioning as a converter of open type.
