Abstract:
An electro-optical cable is capable of transmitting electric energy and optical signal
simultaneously. The electro-optical cable is composed of a core and a sheath
(3). The core includes metallic wires (2), optical fibers (5) and reinforcing members
(6) of the optical fibers, and the metallic wires (2) and the optical fibers (5)
are covered with insulation layers (4) respectively. The optical fibers (5)
are longitudinally located inner or outer of the reinforcing members (6). The
cross section of the electro-optical cable is dumbbell-shaped, circular or
oblate. The reinforcing members (6) of the optical fibers may be plastic frameworks, steel
wires or metal longitudinal binding bands. A distinguishing line is formed on
the surface of the sheath to distinguish from other cables.
