Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a planar electroacoustic converter that is thin, achieves sufficient volume, and has excellent acoustic properties; and a display device. This electroacoustic converter has: a piezoelectric film for expanding and contracting according to the state of an electric field; a viscoelastic support body adhered to and positioned on one surface of the piezoelectric film; and a pressing member for keeping the thickness of at least one section of the viscoelastic support body in a thinned state by pressing the piezoelectric film against the viscoelastic support body. Therein, the piezoelectric film has: a flat section held in a flat state by the surface of the viscoelastic support body, in at least one section that excludes the pressed section pressed upon by the pressing member; and an angled section that extends in a direction that intersects the pressed section, and is connected to the pressed section and the flat section.
